Heavy blued single edged, curved fullered blade. In its original brown leather scabbard with large brass chape and brass reinforcing band to the top. Originally issued to the men serving the Dutch East India Company in the far east during the early 20th century many of these handy machetes were captured by the Japanese at the beginning of WW2 and saw wide service with that army during the rest of the conflict.
